Thank you!
August 29, 2009 – 7:04 pmHello! Man time has gotten away from me once again; I can’t believe how fast the months go by. I forgot to mention in my last update that Zander turned a year old. It felt like such a huge milestone for us after Zeki passing away. I have never been so excited for one of my kids to turn 1. He had his first symptom of his Spina Bifida a few days before his birthday, we were so sad. So needless to say we will be spending some time at Children’s Hospital while back in the states.
Other than that, both the babies are doing amazing! Christina is now 20 lbs. and has out grown all the clothes that were so generously donated to her. She started walking a few weeks ago; she has made so many remarkable improvements and we are so excited for all of you to meet her. Zander started walking a week after Christina, but still prefers his faster method of crawling! What a joy it is to watch them grow and develop. What plans God has for these two little ones and how honored we are to be a part of it.
We are so excited for our future trip back to the states. We had such an incredible response from all of you and will be traveling for over two months, over 10,000 miles and 20 states! What an adventure that is going to be with five kids! We can’t wait to share all that God is doing and what the future holds for us here in Belize.
We can’t thank you all enough for all the support that you have given us! We are truly blessed to have such great friends and cheerleaders! So many of you write and say how inspiring our lives are and how you couldn’t do what we are doing. I can’t find the right words to say this, so I pray that you understand what I am trying to say. It is because of all of you and because of the love and support that you show that gives us strength! Yes, we know that it ultimately comes down to the Lord and that it is all because of Him. But, He uses you! You are a part of every life that we touch here in Belize! When the electricity goes off for 10 hours and we are hot and tired, when we miss home, when we want to feel the arms of our parents wrapped around us, when we want to walk into Rez and feel the presence of God and see all our friends, when dogs are chasing me and the car breaks down, when we just simply wish we had a friend here…..it is every e-mail, every phone call, every item that is donated, every dollar that is given that reminds us of God’s faithfulness and that we are here for a reason.
So thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for loving us and encouraging us! For walking along side of us in this journey to make a difference! You are the best and we appreciate you and thank God for you!
On the journey,
Melissa

Melissa,
It’s hard to believe Zander is a year old, but I know it’s not hard for you after all you have been through caring for him. Sounds like Christina is thriving, too. With the Lord’s help you and Jervis have provided a loving home and given the children so much love. You are inspiration
I apparently clicked the wrong key and hadn’t quite finished my message. You are an inspiration in my life, and I am blessed by communicating with you.
Love and continued blessings to all.
Dodi

Hello Fishers -
We are praying for your upcoming trip, and know that God is taking care of all the details. Also, last night at our cell group, we prayed for Zander - and will pursue God for complete healing of this spina bifida. Praise God for His amazing love being poured out to these beautiful kids!!
We’re excited to see you at Rez!
Blessings,
Nancy
