JERVIS & MELISSA FISHER

DIRECTORS OF LOL MINISTRY

Jervis and Melissa graduated from Texas Bible Institute in 1996 and from Christ for the Nations Institute in 2005. Jervis also completed an advanced 1-year program at CFNI in Frontier Missions, and Melissa completed an advanced 1-year program in Children and Family Ministry.

Jervis and Melissa were married in 1997. They have three children: Shandice (adopted from Belize), Jermicah, and Analiya. They are currently in the process of adopting two Belizean children, Zander and Christina.

Jervis and Melissa have a desire to live a passionate life for Jesus and to be an example to others through their marriage, family and personal walk with the Lord. They yearn to further the Kingdom of Heaven by empowering and mobilizing anointed ministers as Godly disciples of Christ.

 

Ben & Raela

Ben, originally from Colorado, heard about LOL through his high school. He was a part of the school’s annual senior class mission trip. While in Belize Ben encountered a stirring in his heart that he had never felt before. After graduating, Ben made the commitment to serve LOL full time first as an intern and now as staff.

Raela was born and raised in Southern California. She first heard about LOL through her church. After a short-term trip, Raela felt called to come back and serve the ministry. She later met Ben while enrolled in the internship program. Having the opportunity of working together, Ben and Raela formed an amazing bond of friendship that would later lead to their marriage.

After being married in Belize alongside the children, fellow staff and beloved family, they have together committed to serve LOL Ministry. Both Ben and Raela are currently work full-time as the Facilities Manager and Childcare Director. They can now add Mom and Dad to their roles, as they have their son Benaiah joining them on the mission field. In addition to becoming Lifestyle Center House Parents to a set of children at LOL. Ben and Raela both find delight in this new season of parenthood.

Edgar & Julia

Edgar, also know as “Sheds” and Julia are Belizeans who were hired on staff in 2015 as care-givers. In 2016, they were given the opportunity to come on as interns to be further poured into, both individually and together as a dating couple, by Melissa and Jervis along with volunteers and staff. In 2017, Sheds and Julia got married and joined our LOL team permanently. Soon after, they brought their first biological daughter, Grace, who has joined them on this calling in life. Edgar and Julia are full time Lifestyle Center House Parents to a set of four girls at LOL. In addition, Edgar works in our Security department during the day, and Julia is a stay at home mom to their daughter Grace and their LOL children.


Nina 

Nina is from Phoenix, Arizona. She moved to Northern-Colorado in 2012. In 2014, she went to Belize with a team of college-students. The following summer she completed a 2-month summer internship with LOL Ministry. During this time, she was a caregiver for the younger children of LOL. After her internship, Nina returned home to Colorado for a year before the Lord brought her back into the jungle to serve and love the children in Belize. Nina is now full-time staff at LOL. She works in the Administrative department and a full time Lifestyle Center House Parent to a set of three LOL kids.

Melissa

Melissa, known mostly by “Miss M,” was born and raised in Pennsylvania. She initially heard about LOL through missionary friends friends while she lived in Belmopan, Belize. She committed first as an intern, and then became a full-time volunteer to show the love of God to the children of Belize, and teach them in their daily lives. Melissa graduated from college with a degree in Elementary Education, she brought her gifting to LOL. She is currently our home school teacher at LOL for the children who are not enrolled in the local schools due to various reasons. In addition, she is a full-time Lifestyle Center House Parent to a set of two girls. Melissa is committed to staying at LOL for as long as God tells her to stay.

Rachael

Rachael’s dream job was working as a Paramedic/EMT. After working at a busy city agency in Denver for 12 years, she began to feel pulled in another direction. After three trips to LOL with a team, she finally knew LOL is where she was supposed to be. She left her job and moved to Belize in August 2018. Rachael is currently our Belize-side accountant, on-site medic, and one of our Belize team coordinators. In addition, she is a full-time Lifestyle Center House Parent to two young boys. Rachael will remain at LOL until God directs her to another path.

Santa

Santa is local Belizean-Maya woman. She is from a village called Midway, located in the Toledo District. Santa was hired as a on-call caregiver in 2017. After witnessing her faithfulness to LOL, she was given the opportunity to be on staff full-time and she happily accepted. She currently works as a full time Lifestyle-Center House Parent to two children at LOL. Every since she was in school, this is a job she has always dreamed of. She is proud of accomplishing a dream, and to serve God by caring for the children in her nation and LOL Ministry.
