Mexico border
February 4, 2008 – 9:41 pmHello all,
Well I am sitting on this beautiful Monday in Bacalar, Mexico. We went to the border of Chetumal this morning to find out it was a Mexican holiday and the border was closed. So, what to do but wait until tomorrow. We drove about thirty minutes from the border to this small, quaint town and rented a shabby hotel with a view to die for. So I guess if I have to be stuck, this would be the place to spend this Mexican holiday.
The rest of our travel through Mexico went well. We traveled 15 hours on Saturday until we finally found a hotel that we could stay at. With the number of vehicles and people we have safety and parking is hard to come by.
We have had a great time driving down and getting to see the country of Mexico. We are praying that we can cross over the border tomorrow and there won’t be another “holiday!”
I have attached a few pictures for you to enjoy. One of the vehicles we are taking, one of Pablo our custodian that we had to pay to come with us through Mexico and one of the breath taking view that I am experiencing right now!
Miss you all and thanks again for the prayers.
In Christ,
Jervis, Melissa and kids
