July 2007 Financial Update
July 21, 2007 – 10:00 pmDear family and friends,
After sending out our last letter we have had several of you that have asked for a more detailed list of our expenses and what we need financially. So we are sending this to let you know what we need to be able to move to Belize in the fall as missionaries. At this point we have ΒΌ of our monthly support.
The expenses in Belize are generally more than those in the States. Unleaded gas is $4-$6 more per gallon and diesel is only about .50-$1.00 more per gallon. Electricity is 6x more and water 10x more.
Belize charges taxes (duty) on all items that enter their country. So every household item we bring we will pay anywhere from 30-70% tax on the value. You pay this amount whether you bring the item in or buy the item there. For vehicles we will pay anywhere from 20-65% tax.
Just a reminder we are making our final contact list to take with us and if you would like to be informed on what we are doing please send back the form by August. Please note you do not have to support us financially to be on our list.
