Info regarding prayer request
December 15, 2008 – 4:39 amI feel like I need to explain a little more than I did when I sent out my last prayer request. The situation with Lydia and Zander, is more complicated than her asking for money. First of all, I would like you to know that we are not considering giving her any money. When we asked for wisdom it is because we need to know which direction to go. Do we find a lawyer, do we go to the police, do we go to social services or do we wait? The law here is very different then in the states; we have no rights, even though we have legal custody. If she wants him back she could get him back. That posses another piece of information we need to share. As you know we came to Belize to start an orphanage. We have at least a year if not longer before that will be up and running. So any children that we take into our home, we are taking them in as one of our own. This puts us in a different place in our hearts; we don’t look at them as this is temporary. Maybe that is wrong for us and we need to distance ourselves. So when we call Zeki, Juni or Zander our son it is because we have adopted them into our hearts.
I am sorry if I sound defensive; I received some replies back that made me feel like I needed to give a better explanation. I pray you can understand where we are coming from. If Zander is better off with his biological mom, then I pray the Lord will show me that.
