Earthquake in Belize!
May 29, 2009 – 4:00 pmWhat a crazy experience! Jervis and I woke up in such a daze wondering why our bed and bodies were shaking all over the place. It took a few minutes and we realized that it was an earthquake. Things started crashing to the floor and we ran to get the kids. Everyone is fine and there is no serious damage done to any of our items. As far as the rest of the area there are a few houses that collapsed and a water tower in Independence which is about an hour from here. For the most part I think it scared everyone!
I have not heard of any injuries or deaths at this point in Belize. We pray for other areas such as Honduras that received the stronger part of the earthquake. We have looked on the internet and they said it was 7.1, I am not sure if that is how strong it was in Belize or just in Honduras.
