Future visions for LOL in the Community:

After School Programs

Part of our vision for both the community and for our ministry at LOL is to travel into the local villages and provide after school programs for the children. We want to disciple these children while teaching them skills they can use in their future. Many of these children have instilled gifts that they have not had a chance to explore. We want to give them the opportunity to glorify God with the gifts God gave them. Here are a few of the programs we want to start:

Children’s Choir

Vision:

Psalm 147:1 says, Praise the Lord. For it is good to sing praises to our God. It is pleasant because praise is beautiful.

We believe one of the greatest ways to express honor and worship to God is through singing praises to Him. This verse says that the praises that come from our lips are beautiful to the ears of God. Our desire is to start a children’s choir where we can let this beautiful sound come forth from San Felipe village.

Psalm 22:3 says, God is holy, enthroned in the praises of His people.

This means God’s throne is made up of our praises. We want to make His throne bigger and bigger with our songs of worship.

Objectives:

We want to help discover the gifts and talents God has placed in these children and give them an opportunity to use their gifts through the following:

I. Basic music and singing. Harmonizing and voice training.
II. Unity. While singing and working together each group learning his or her part will come together with one voice.
III. How to worship God with their voices.

Long Term:

We hope to get a core group of committed children that we can eventually travel with to other cities and villages to share with them the love of God through music. Our hope is to include nights of worship, Christmas programs and other events throughout the year.

LOL Farms

Vision

A year round agriculture program that provides fresh produce for LOL Ministry and the local villages.

Objectives

To produce fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats year round for the children and staff of LOL Ministry.

A. Project Greenhouse: Build a safe haven for bedding seeds.
B. Project Garden: Planting and maintaining a 1600 square foot garden.
C. Project Chicken: Raising local chicken for meat and egg production.
D. Project Swine: Raising swine for meat production.

To teach responsibility to young men and women with the raising of livestock.

A. Teaching children how to feed and look after livestock

To supply food at a reasonable price to the local villages.

A. Set up local markets closer to the villages.
B. Bring in other farmers’ produce from around Belize.

To advise local farmers on production of year-round crops.

A. Set up classes with the local Ministry of Agriculture for local farms.
B. Have local farms come to LOL farm to receive hands-on training.
